Transforming Business Strategy Into Measurable Results

Jason Harrell is one of the best policy advocates that I know. He is a great speaker who is always well-prepared, informed, and makes a real effort at bringing different views and perspectives together. I’ve had the pleasure of serving on several committees and working groups with Jason in both the US and in Europe, and he is one of the smartest, most effective and nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Jason has spoken at many of our IIF events on cybersecurity, operational resilience, and third-party risk management and he is able to explain technical and difficult issues in a very accessible, engaging and persuasive fashion.

Jason is one of the smartest and most relatable people I know. His deep expertise provides a comfort level when he speaks that allows the audience to be drawn in and engaged in the discussion. Because of being an SME in multiple disciplines (cyber, resilience, third party risk, regulatory, etc.) his knowledge base allows him to tackle conversations in a holistic way and relate to different audiences both at an entry level all the way up to the C suite level. For years he has been and continues to be looked at as a leader in the Financial Sector and has built relationships and networks across the globe that allows him to have an expansive view of topics, issues and back stories that often comes with many of the topics he discusses. He always considers his audience when presenting and is able to dive deep when he is speaking to experts and stay conceptual when the audience calls for it. I have tremendous respect for him and he has always impressed me in the many engagements where I have seen him lead or speak.

I have had the pleasure to experience Jason‘s presentations at industry conferences on many occasions and am a big fan. Jason is articulate, personable and has a sense of humor that come through very comfortably in his speeches. Beyond his style, his biggest strength is in his ability to take complex topics and boil them down to simple points that are consumable by a broad audience. Jason is mindful of his audience and dials his presentation to the right level to make it consumable. He is particularly good at presentations to C-suite members and their notorious short attention spans. He compliments this skill with deep subject matter expertise in multiple areas. This becomes evident when he answers questions from the audience or pivots and goes off-script to make his point. I know that Jason has deep personal integrity and will only speak on topics where he has something to add. So, if I see him presenting on a topic of interest, I will be inclined to go to his session over another for which I might also have an interest.

…During his time with our Cyber Security WG Jason was my “go to” speaker on the topic for webinars, presentations and events. Jason has the ability to make complex concepts and facts understandable and enjoyable for audiences without that expertise. His manner of storytelling makes events and crisis both entertaining and educational without losing the audience’s attention – nor trivialising the complexity. Jason was always extremely well prepared both understanding the audience and the messages that we needed to convey to that audience. He is also more than capable of dealing with complex questions from the audience – politely clarifying meaning where needed – but actually answering the question rather than reverting to a scripted generic answer. He reacts professionally and adjusts his presentation to take account of the issues encountered graciously and with humor.

Jason is a great, hands-on and bright professional, very helpful with Transaction Banking issues involving Latin America. He has been of great help to several ABN branches scattered in several Latin American countries and also his deep knowledge and command of Spanish is a major plus both professionally and personally.
